Just bought some. This is the same company that makes automotive oil supplements. Anyone familiar with it? When I was racing I used their product in the drag car. Looking for some input. About to do the 1911 and a 22 auto with it. If I like it it will go on the wifes new Sig as well. Heres a little info. http://www.lucasgunoil.com/ and a bit more info http://www.lucasgunoil.com/whylucas.html

First impression: I hate the dispensor. I'm not trying to oil a tractor here!! I guess you should apply generous amounts.

Should work fine I've seen guys use mobile 1 synthetic car oil on race 1911's and it worked great.

I used to use it, but it is quite messy. I switched to the little bottle of Breakfree CLP with a small applicator tube, maybe 3" long and have been quite happy.
I am not saying the Lucas is a bad lubricant, it is thicker and has a poor bottle design, it worked just fine when using a Q-tip style applicator.

Mobil 1 5w30 worksmgreat on every gun you own.
Wipe it on with a rag, pour it over parts, drop the bolt into the bottle, use a qtip, doesnt matter how you apply it, just get it on the moving parts.

Yep, I've used Mobil 1 on some guns before and it works great. I use Remoil right now but thinking of going back to Mobil 1.
Not to mention the cost savings. Compare a quart of Mobil 1 to the price you pay for small bottles of other gun oil.

I use Marvel Mystery Oil simply because it's almost universally regarded the "best" oil for black powder weapons as per a few traditional forums I belong to. To keep things simple, I just use it on everything.

I shot the 1911 today with the lucas. The oil seemed to function fine and the gun was as smooth after 100 rounds as it was before. The only problem was I put too much on it to start with due to the poor applicator. The oil is also very thick so it now looks like my gun is splatter painted with it including some oil on my face. Thats my fault. Overall I will only use it in the future if plan to oil an automatic and store it then expect it to function 2 years later without service. This stuff seems to have some staying power.

My brother picked me up some from a Lucas Oil delivery driver, I use it to lube all my guns, this stuff is slicker than greased owl $&@! I have used the same bottle for over a year now and never had a lubrication issue on any of my 1911's, shotguns or rifles use with confidence.
