Hello from Arkansas,

This looks like a very comprehensive forum, it's nice to see so many hog hunters in one place.

Some friends from AR, MO, and RI will be traveling to Stephenville,TX for a hog hunt.

We currently have access to a small tract of land for our hunt. However, in the event that hogs are not present, (if someone clears them out before we get there) we would like to have a backup location to hunt.

If you have any land being overrun by hogs, coyotes, or other varmint and would like assistance clearing them out, we will be glad to oblige during the weekend of 03/11/2011-03/14/2011

One of the guys in our group is from Rhode Island, and doesn't have ANY land to hunt hogs on up that way. I'm somewhat nervous that I've blown his expectations out of the water and won't have anything to show for it. sick
It's going to be a relatively short trip and we would like to make the best of it. If we can help someone else out in the process, it would make our time even better!

We are responsible hunters, ages 25+, and each having taken hunter's safety. (We will be purchasing TX licenses even though they're not required to take wild hogs.)

If you or someone you know would be able to point us in the right direction we'd be most thankful.

PM or Post

It's alot different DowN here than in Arkansas, only way you will find more hogs to hunt is pay for it, no ask to hunt land down here it is all leased up, but lots of places and guys on here you can pay to hunt them to hunt hogs. Prolly not what you were hoping to hear grin

welcome

It's all good, I'm sure there's something out there. I've talked to a few farmers down there who say they have hog problems and they just said, "Come on down!", I'm just worried that they'll shoot the pigs before we get there lol.

I've been on a couple hog hunts in TX before, one near Seymour,TX and once down near Georgetown,TX. Both were a great time, and didn't require a lease.

But if a lease is the way to go, I'd say we can check it out. How much do they cost usually?

Too much lately :), but there are alot of two or three dDay jog hunts for not alot of money few hundred dollars. I wouldn't worry about killing em all not possible we are over run with em. You guys kill as many as you can! We killed close to 40 on our lease this deer season and didn't even dent them. Good luck!

Yeah, on a hunt out near Seymour, we killed only a handful but the deer were EVERYWHERE.

It was the craziest thing, we saw about 150-200 deer, and about 5 hogs. I wish it were the other way around.
