Picked this up about 5 years ago to hunt with as I was tired of scratching up my daily driver. Hunted with it the first year in stock condition. Found Ck5.com while searching for some technical info and discovered the online world of 4x4 modifications and started upgrading things while using it for 2 more seasons. Then, I got a little carried away two years ago and took it apart. Just this past week finally got in on the road after working on it in my spare time at the shop. Not 100% finished, but it is in hunting shape and road ready. Originally - 400sb/th350 with chain drive np203 t-case. Dana 44 front axle / 12 bolt rear axle with 3.08 gears and open diffs. Saggy, wore out stock springs on 31" tires. Camper inside was coming apart and pretty poor shape. Now - stock 400sb, but I replaced every seal, hose and pump on it. th350 went to a shop was gone through and had a shift kit put in. Picked up a gear drive np205 t-case that had been rebuilt and put a 1350 flange on the rear output. Used a 1350 CV shaft off a ford superduty as my rear driveline. Axles are now 3/4 ton with 4.10 gears. 14bolt full floater rear with Detroit locker / Corp 10 bolt front with older big bearing hubs. Tires are 37" hmmwv tires on steel wagon wheels. I gutted the camper and had some new cabinets built. My uncle helped and did the upholstery work. Top and seats are 1000 denier cordura, curtains and wall upholstery are surplus camo ripstop fabric. Paint is OD green from Rapcoparts that I sprayed on wit a cheap pep boys gun. Bumpers were built and custom fit by DPI in Tulsa, OK. Cool little tube grill was built by Hartley TNT in Colorado. I needed it after I hit a rock at the lease one night and busted the original plastic one.... Suspension is all spring 4" Rough Country lift and an extra 2" blocks in the rear to level out the camper. Brakes have extended stainless lines. Some pics Original condition. 2007 Dove Season. Still stock, but painted and on 32 BFG's. Lift halfway done. Getting a new front axle. Detroit. Drivetrain assembly before install

Rent an equipment trailer like they haul backhoes and stuff with. I used one to haul this beast back from Tulsa. That was before the lift and 37's though.
Thanks for compliments.

Tolerance is the virtue of a man without conviction.
The end of the world began the day it was created, and life is a sexually transmitted terminal disease.

The beauty of the Second Ammendment is it won't be needed until they try and take it.

Nice truck, I've always wanted a k-5 . To top it off my wife's uncle just bought his daughter an old k-5 4x4 with 80,000 original miles in mint conditon for 4,000 thousand. Why can't I find a deal like that?

I never find deals like that. Last time I called on an "original" 72 K5 the guy was asking 10,000.
I've never driven one with the half cab. Need to get the license plate and light mounted to this sucker so I can get it on the road.
