Hey Guys,
I have posted this gun on the THF Trading Post, but I am having a problem determining the value of the gun.
It is a Savage .410 single-shot shotgun, 26 barrel, Westpoint model 949 with break open side lever, chambered for 2-1/2 and 3 shells.
Here is the post with the photos:
http://www.texashuntingforum.com/forum/u...you#Post1010881 The question was asked on-line on Answers.com..."What is the value of a Savage Arms Westpoint Model 949?"
The answer was..."I would not sell a good one for less than $550.00"
This sounds too good to be true and seems way too high. Any of you guys know what the real value of this gun is?
It has been my experience that the .410s sell for more than the 12s or 20s,but once again the price on Answers.com seems way too high.
With the limited research info available from Savage, it appears this gun was made between 1936 - 1942 and is in great shape for that age.
I want to sell this gun, but dont want the price to be out of line one way or the other. Any input here?
Thanks,
wild bill 49
