Used to be a BBQ joint in the 50s and 60s called Leonards. I think it was on the corner of McLemore and Bellview. I've never had as good pulled pork, beans, and cole slaw as his. The cole slaw was served on the pulled pork sandwich. I still do it that way.

I second the notion to cross the Mississippi state line and eat at Memphis BBQ Company in Horn Lake. The owners of that place have won awards at the Memphis in May competition a few times. Also, a pulled pork sammich just isn't rightbwithout cole slaw.

Central BBQ pulled pork nachos are some of the best I've had. I like Central but when I go there the group I go with always gets a meat and cheese plate and I get nachos. I don't think I've ever ate a rib there.
I can make as good a rib (I don't eat beef ribs but rarely) at home and I hate paying a by the lb place for a rib bone that I ain't gonna eat...so I rarely get a rib at a good BBQ place. I stick to pork/chicken/beef/turkey at most.
