I feel odd starting this thread, but I'm in something of a desperate situation. My 21 foot travel trailer was recently stolen from a storage yard in Corpus. There were larger and nicer units on the lot, but only mine was taken. The police told me that these smaller trailers are often stolen to use as hunter's cabins on private deer leases since they are pretty useless on the road. Several days passed before I knew it was gone so the chance of recovery is slim to none. I'm an outdoorsman myself and know that 99.9% of hunters are decent, honorable people that frown on thievery, but like any large group there is always that .1% that ruin it for everyone else. The trailer is a tan 2017 21ft Rockwood Micro Lite 2104S. If anyone has any information on it's whereabouts I'd be very appreciative, anonymity is guaranteed. It's probably too late to recover the actual RV, but my wife has a lot of personal items inside that are useless to anyone else but are very important to her. I just want that stuff back for her sake. I know this is a long shot and I really feel awkward joining a forum just to make this post, but it would mean a great deal to me and my wife and any help is greatly appreciated. I can post a picture if it will help, but I don't want to abuse my welcome. Again I'm not pointing any fingers, I'm just doing what I can to recover what belongs to my and my family. Thank you all so much for understanding.

With all the damage and devastation from recent hurricane, I would tend to look in some of the out skirted areas of Rockport down to Portland where homes were totaled and maybe someone took it to place on their property. I think this more of a possibility than a hunter needing a place to stay!

That's the trailer the day I brought it home. I agree with everything that has been posted so far. I too thought about unconventional Harvey relief and even made a few field trips to some of the parks but no luck. The only reason I even suspected a hunting lease was due to the trailer's smaller size. There were numerous larger and nicer units parked right next to mine, some with no security measures, that were left untouched. Their large size makes them impractical for hiding in the woods, my little 21 footer is perfect. I had several locks installed but they took the time to cut those off. If this was a couple of years ago, the Eagle Ford Shale project would have been my primary suspect, but that has cooled off considerably lately. This is a total Hail Mary, I'm really not expecting much as I know the hunting community is generally better than that, but I still have to cover all the bases. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the consideration. If anyone has any information that would also be appreciated, and again, anonymity is ensured. Thank you all again.

Lot of place very close in the CC area to hide a trailer that size. My guess would be they only had a 1/2 ton truck is why they stole yours instead of the larger Rv's. Good luck in finding it and the person who stole it.

I have a storage place and it is inconceivable to me that a storage place would not have cameras on front gate and get license plates and movies of all that go in and out.

I have a storage place and it is inconceivable to me that a storage place would not have cameras on front gate and get license plates and movies of all that go in and out. I assumed they at least had a camera covering the main entrance, their are plenty inside the office watching the bills get paid. I wasn't pleased to find they had no outside cameras. Caveat Emptor...

Cameras are good to document what happened possibly but seldom do they prevent theft. Who is watching them at at 3:00 in the morning? No one is watching I suspect at any storage facility in the wee hours of the morning. Best advise I got when mine was broken into was to leave it open so they don't tear it up trying to see what's inside and never leave valuables in it unattended. They are glorified card board boxes essentially. As far as the whole rig disappearing probably happens less then just getting broke into but have good insurance that appropriately covers its value. Storage places are not Fort Knox. Most provide reasonable levels of security but are not going to prevent seasoned criminals from taking what they want. Owners have to take reasonable measures to secure their own equipment. Most of us can not or would not pay what it would cost for absolute security such as 24 hour armed security.
On another note I had a 4 wheeler stolen and was told by the LEO that may of those end up on deer leases as well. Said they recover lots of 4 wheelers years later usually after deer season left in the bar ditches. People lose their leases and don't want to risk being caught with stolen property so they abandon them in rural areas.

On my 4 1/2 acres of storage I have 21 cameras,,,,,, good cameras ----- the bad guys dont come near me, they rob places with no cameras ----- at 3 am I will have a movie of them stealing,, pics of them and their license plates. NO way I would store anything at a place without cameras. Also I have large memory chips, so I can go back 3 weeks to see what happened.

Actually when mine got broken into they had good video but the license plate was concealed or removed couldn't really tell which. The owners were very forthright with what they had on video and let me watch it. The perps wore masks but you would never be able to see their faces anyway and they didn't enter through the entrance. Got good video for insurance company but police were less then enthusiastic that they would catch anyone. Even took a bunch of finger prints. I didn't blame the storage owner at all. They did all they could but some things are indefensible. Best defense is have good insurance as I was made whole very quickly.

I just received a call from a fella that bought my 2017 Nitro 21FSQL. The RV was stolen last night from a storage yard in the DFW area. He has little details at this time, as the storage yard wouldn’t release video surveillance info until it was provided to the local police.

Well; I’m in east Texas and will keep an eye out for both. Thank you all so much, this is what I love about the hunting community. I agree that there is a good chance Harvey played a role in this. Just yesterday the dog and I went on a road trip through Rockport just to say that we did, what a futile effort. It's amazing that on the TV crime shows a couple of cops can canvas a major city and find what they are looking for in minutes, but in reality even a small community takes forever, especially when there are countless gravel roads and makeshift trailer parks scattered everywhere. Needless to say it was a waste of time, but at least the pup enjoyed the ride. A big thanks again to everyone here.

Did you have insurance on it? Fortunately yes, but that only covers so much. It's the personal items inside, especially my wife's stuff, that bothers us the most. I should hear something from the insurance company this week, then it's time to shop for a replacement.
