Tell me about it. How much do you pay annually, what animals, the usual.

What could one expect. I have the opportunity to pick up 500 acres to run doe hunts and a few buck hunts. That's why I am asking.

Question is what kind of bucks does it have? No one is going to pay more than few hundred dollars to kill a doe. They are pretty small around there. Day leases are abt $150 to $300 for the area to kill some deer from I have seen on FB. Lodging and amenities?

No clue, the front part of the property is a rock quarry and the back 400 acres is where we would be leasing. Correct @ $150-200 a doe it would have to have high doe numbers. I imagine max size would be 120's for bucks. I'd probably charge per point 100-150. I'm not interested in shooting out a place and it not being worth a flip in the following years.

How much are leases going for around there?

in that area, a lease would be very hard to find IMO, especially more than 100-200 acres. A lot of the properties have been chopped up due to urban sprawl out of Austin/Killeen/Belton/Temple with some turned into vineyards and olive groves. I would love to find a place that close to home (I live in Georgetown) to take the grandkids. This isn't the old Holstrom or Bauer place by chance?

I've hunted slightly west of Florence where there were good numbers of deer, decent sized does and bucks (if other hunters would let them mature) years ago. Is the land owner willing to let you day hunt it? For a normal type lease, the going rate is likely in the $15-20/acre if you can find one, maybe even more.

Hey PMK, how's it going? No sir it isn't those places. $15-20 huh, that sounds a lot more like south Texas than what I was expecting. The land owner is letting us run Day hunts.

just based on anything that might come available in the Williamson/Burnet county areas ... most of which are smaller places. I had a place that was 170 acres but the landowner & their adult son lived on the place, making it only about 140 acres huntable, then he sold off 35 acres, making it only about 100 acres huntable. for $1750 or $17.50/acre, started off about $12/acre before LO built. It had very heavy hunting pressure all around. I leased it for the family to take my daughter/SIL and son/DIL as a place to get away year around and take a few deer & pigs.

Even on the extreme low end of the scale would be in the $10-15 range I would think. I really would love to find something that close to take the grandkids. Let me know if it doesn't work out for ya'll, I would be interested.

There used to be a pretty nice size ranch that was well set up and managed years ago around where CR 230 kicked off 2843, some pretty good deer and pretty good numbers in that area. My old boss owned an adjoining 40 acres that he hunted and usually got a pretty nice deer (120 class) each year.
