It's been a long time since I've been on here. As far as I can tell, since my last post I've lost another pointer to cancer, and got an English setter. I'm used to pointers always getting a bloody tail, but for some reason I was surprised to see it with my setter as well. Very bright red at times; but at least it subsides quickly, back at the truck.

Seeds from quail crops (in Karnes County) look like this, this winter.

Lastly, another thanks to Bill Oxner for his Johnny House plans a year or two ago. It's still in action.

Welcome back! I’ve seen those “beans” in quail crops in south Texas. What plant do they come from?

Welcome back. Thanks a bunch for your kind words. How was your hunting in Karnes county this year?

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Only got there twice so far this season, for various reasons. Same number of Covey's, but fewer birds I think, than last season. The rancher said we were hunting last year's birds. Didn't seem to matter to the dogs though.
