Put an 8# pork butt on the bge at 11pm. Gauge in dome showed 240-250 for the entire cook. Meat hit 203 in 9 hours. I was expecting it to take about 12 or so. Y'all think my gauge is off?

Probably not. That`s about an hour per pound. You can check your thermometer by putting it in boiling water. The gauge on the bge could be off though.

I'd check it like TPack said.. Mine was off 75-80 degrees from the factory & I went almost a year without knowing.. That said, it doesn't sound like its off much..
I really hate to do what I am about to do, because it will be very painful for you.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill
