Is the 1-8x a sporting or tactical model? Inquiring minds want to know.

I notice they are only around 90-91 % light transmission which is not bad but for a high end euro scope it seems like it would be higher. no other knowledge of these scopes besides reading the specs. good luck with it. I know my Meopta are up at 99% light transmission, and they also are a euro scope with excellent glass. http://www.meoptasportsoptics.com/us/

I don't put any faith in published light transmission..
Meopta makes great hunting scopes with great glass
the 1-8 is "tactical"

I'm interested in your thoughts on it once you get it. I've been looking at their binoculars. GPO was formed by 2 guys that definitely know the business. I emailed a question and promptly got a response from the US owner as well the European side

They are German “designed”optics. Have you seen any information on where they are made? They are not made in Germany or anywhere else in Europe.

I have a pair of their HD binoculars on the way. They are speculated to be made in the same Japanese facility that makes the Conquest HD/Razor HD but I didn't research the scopes. Here's a youtube video I found when trying to answer the same question. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SgYPFx0D98A

Got the scope in, it's very good Great glass, even in extremely low light, used it to kill a big boar 45 minutes past sunset. Illuminated reticle is well done

I have a pair of cabelas branded meopta binos. They are great. I was on an aoudad hunt and they guide using swaros looked through mine and and was impressed. Although they were not as great as his, for the price I paid(think at least half or less) they got the job done. I could also see as far and as late as he could on the mountains.
