I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the hunting on this ranch and could possibly fill me in. On any of their rules/requirements.

I live just north of the Spade about five miles. Our retired Game Warden Randy Bullard is now in charge of the hunting there. He pretty much runs the hunts and selects good hunters to hunt. They used to run almost 100 hunters when it was uncontrolled. I don't hunt there as I have my own place and also a lease I've had for nearly twenty years. I do know there are some good bucks taken at the Spade every year. At our Hunters Appreciation every year there are usually around thirty or forty Spade Ranch Hunters show up every year. I know several that live here that have leases there also, as its south of Colorado City. Randy Bullard lives in town and he can tell you a lot more about it.

They also have Quail hunts on a large portion of it.

I used to work on a neighboring ranch in the same area. There are a lot of deer in that area.

I don't believe they allow bow hunting.

I hunted there for several years growing up, my dad hunted there over 40 years. A lot of deer, 125" average, saw very few 140 come out of there. It is not a year around lease, no spring turkey and no archery season. As far as saying there used to be a hundred hunters, probably so, but it is over 120,000 acres, and the retired GW added more.
