I have heard enough people say "you can't work on a Remington trigger" Mine are the newer, less then 10 years old, X-mark pro. Is there any way to improve the trigger pull? I have six rifles that I can not afford $150.00 on each.

Yes, you can adjust them. You won't get them to a light weight bench trigger, but you can adjust it enough to make it a good trigger.

I recently bought a Rem 700 ADL with the X mark trigger, and adjusted it down to about 2-3 lbs. It's not a Jewell trigger, but it will work.

I have a Remington 700 ADL. I put a Timney trigger on it, and it's the best trigger I've every tried. I bought the "thin" version that Timney introduced a couple of years ago.

The XMarkPro should adjust fine, but the Timney is outstanding. I'm going to buy one for my Ruger American Predator rifle.

I have 1 700 and 1 Model Seven left in the stable, both wear Timneys.

Running TriggerTech on mine. Used an adjusted model 700 trigger for years. Difference is night and day.

Remington's are the one trigger I've never really had a problem with, easy to adjust and as mentioned above (Not target grade but close enough for most)they'll work for 90% of most applications.

I have an extra Timney Calvin Elite tuned to 2lbs I am not using...

Remington triggers are pretty easy and straightfoward to adjust. There are only three screws; travel, weight and sear engagement. The one to be careful with is the sear engagement. If you go to far with it, the trigger can be a scary, sensitive hair trigger.

Watch a few videos online and decide for yourself if you are comfortable with adjusting it. If you do decide to adjust the trigger be sure to lock the screws down with a drop of blue locktite or even nail polish.

I've done erniethegunsmith spring on 3 different 700's. In each case it reduced the pull weight from 3/4 to 1lb off stock.
For the price it worked for me.

I converted my 700 .223 ADL to BDL and adjusted the stock trigger. Really made a huge difference. Never shot a jewel or timney and I doubt it's even close, but man I love the results after adjusting it. PLEASE be very careful, as mentioned above, if you over-do it you can cause the sear to release with the safety on!
