Several years ago I used to give Bill a hard time about using ATVs to hunt. Well darn. Now I am 51. Getting some hip arthritis. And just got back from Idaho chukar hunting. Hiking 1 to 2 hours uphill to get to the birds is getting to be a PITA. May have to invest in an ATV to get up to the top ridge.

But from then on it's all boot leather

If you want an ATV (4 wheeler) get a Kawasaki Brute Force, or if u want a UTV (Side by side) go for a Polaris.

In this order....
Faith, Family, Hunting.

The Polaris has restrictions at the tailgate. It's difficult to get a 48 inch high seat box in there. I have a Gator but would go for a Kawasaki Mule.

Once you go UTV, you never go back.

I still like a nice easy walk behind the dogs.
But when the terrain gets tough, I want to ride.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.
Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

If its me by myself, I prefer to go old school and take turns out of a truck. If I have a couple of guys with me, we rotate driving the mule. It allows you to hunt into the wind the whole time and pick up dogs that are starting to drag their tongues. The Polaris' UTVs are not great if you are 6'2" or taller (after you have been driving a mule for 10 years anyway), sit in one and you will see what I mean. My mule has been a tank, 850 hours and the couple of times I have had it in the shop its been self-inflicted.

Seems like sooner or later we all end up in a UTV.

Yep, time puts us all in one. Prolongs our ability to chase bird dogs.

They are nice but it's get old towing them around..I leave mine at home and rough it unless there is rain in the forecast. I'm young enough to still want to walk though...as long as I'm following bird dogs that is.

Hunting is easy..it's getting permission from your wife that is tough.
