New to Nosler brass. Picked up some fully prepped 308 Win (#10225) and 300 Win Mag (#10227) and neither package obviously includes a lot number. Maybe this cryptic info is it: "IN06B1-1 3 6 0879/0169/0169"?? That's from the 308 Win.
Anybody know?
Thanks.

MTM case guards are excellent, and inexpensive. When I but more brass, I buy those ammo boxes. Keep track of times loaded on the loading label inside the box.

I track on my web site. That's where the identifier comes in else your method, FiremanJG, is great.

I do the same as FiremanJG. New MTM case guard box for each 50 pieces of brass. Stick a label to the inside and circle corresponding number for each cycle. Underline it when I anneal.

When I buy a box of brass, I label them as Lot #1, next box is Lot #2, etc. My Lot #1 is all 168 Ballistic Tips for hunting, Lot # 2 is all Sierra Matchkings for target, and I have a sticky that I stick inside different ammo boxes on lot number, X's fired, when annealed, charge weight, primer type, case type, powder type, etc. I never tumble or mix different lots together. I'll tumble a lot # of 7mm Mag, .308, 6.5 x284 together, as long as its one lot per caliber.

I use lots of masking tape and a Sharpie on the outside of ammo boxes. So I don't even need to open the box to know what the status of the brass is. They may read:
"2 firings, cleaned, annealed, trimmed" "Virgin brass, ready" "Cleaned, needs sizing, trimming"
If there is no tape on the outside of the box, I know it's loaded ammo.
Just depends on what firing that specific box of 50 is on. But when I buy brass for a rifle, I will keep it all fired, sized, annealed the same number of times. So in the situation of the 6.5 Creedmoor and the. 22-250 There comes a time when there's a pile of work to do, because both rifles have 500 pieces of brass assigned to them. Once they've had 2 firings every piece of brass gets tumbled, annealed, FL sized .002" shoulder bump, trimmed. All those processes weren't bad except the trimming, debur. That took many hours. That is why I now have a Giraud trimmer!
