Has anyone been around Mason County yet checking oak trees for acorn growth. I know in East Texas the trees will be full.

I hunt the far west side of the county. We have a pretty good crop of acorns, which is better than past years.

I saw the same thing this weekend. Acorns were on the ground all over. Deer would come to corn, but only after they had a fill of acorns

Just north of you in lower San Saba county. Acorns falling & deer have definitely laid off our corn & protein.

I'll be headed that way next weekend. One of the guys just got back from the lease and said deer were running everywhere (as usual). Hopefully the acorns will fall early, get some rain and rot to keep them coming to feeders.

I got here (west Mason County) about noon. The ground is covered in acorns. We have feeders that have corn building up because the deer are eating acorns. The pigs are even gone.
We had cameras out all week. We normally see 300ish pictures a week, only about 30 this last week.
