So I'm out at my place and going to spray some grown up brush and test my 15gal 12v spot sprayer before I load it up and its working fine......

Until I load it with $200 worth of Remedy Ultra/diesel mixture and get to my spray area and NOTHING!... work on it for 30min trying to get it to work and try everything possible and its just DEAD. I Try to salvage my herbicide and figure I'll drain the mix into my 4gal back pack sprayer, so I fill up the back pack and strap 4gal of Diesel Fuel & Herbicide to my back and give the sprayer 2 good pumps and on the second pump .....

CRACK! - The handle breaks wide open and sprays me with diesel & remedy mix, as I stand in 100 degree heat with 90% humidity covered in fuel and Herbicide I came to the conclusion that my days of buying farm equipment at HARBOR FREIGHT ARE OVER!!!

Point being that I will be buying a single cab side by side UTV such as a gator, Polaris, rhino, ect in the near future and I want to outfit it with a GOOD well made boomless sprayer for broad cast spraying, with at least 25gal capacity (40gal-60gal would be preferred) that also has a good spot sprayer as well.

For you guys that have bought and used these things, tell me the good bad and ugly of the brand you used and what you recommend.

Main considerations being - quality of construction, durability, ease of use, ease of reparing/replacing parts, parts availability, ease of mounting to UTV and storage when not in use.

First, not sure about your brand, but on the ones I've reviewed, diesel in mix is not good, and recommended against.

With that said, I have the North Star 26 gallon purchased from Northern Tool. It works really well, and has both the broadcast and spot sprayer. I get a nice 14ish' spray and it fits very well in bed of UTV. Good switch and continuous duty rating. Does say very clearly not to use mixes with diesel though. They have larger sizes, but the 26 works for me. I also like that the 14" pattern is good for knocking down senderos and sprayer good for fence lines as well.

Thanks Dalroo..... But the "no diesel/no flammables" is more of a liability reduction incase somebody lights themselves up like a roman candle; I rarely spray with the diesel mix but when you have to kill HEAVY brush its the best thing for it.

Agree on the liability side. I too spray remedy and diesel mix for mesquite kill. Mostly use my pump spot sprayer on it though cuz with the price of remedy, I am pretty frugal with it.

For longer than I can remember I've said they should have called it fixing instead of farming. It never fails to fail at the most inconvenient time.

When it comes to sprayers I learned to crank it up and check the pump and nozzles before adding chemical.

Second lesson regarding sprayers, rinse, rinse, rinse.

Third, you'll never be sorry going with more pump, than you need. I'm a big fan of stainless.

X 2 Always check with water and make sure every thing is working. I have spent time fixing sprayers, but I saved the expensive sprays that way. Rozells Ag sold me a "boominator" I think is what it is called. It has worked for years. I have seen some in Atwoods, and I think Norther Tool has the nozzles also. May be a different name brand now.
