Hey Guys! I haven't posted much at all, but have been kind of "stalking" the board for over a year. I hunt a small piece of land in Coleman county that has been in the family since the 1800s. We are working on developing it as best we can. A few years ago, the land was being leased and there was very little sight of quality animals at all. However, since we stopped leasing and have become more devoted to the development of the land, I took a 120 class 10 point 2 years ago. We held of taking any bucks last season to let them grow, and these are the first pics that we have gotten of one of the feeders this year. Deer season can't get here soon enough.

Always fun to watch them grow and on family land none-the-less! Looks like some nice deer and good prospects for the upcoming season.

Keep the pictures coming, I never get tired of seeing deer cheers

We have a place in Coleman too, haven't shot a decent buck in five or so years. We have tried to manage the place but there is a lot of hunting pressure around us.

Hunted in Coleman for 14 years.....love that area. Our place had thousands of unhunted acreage around us so the bucks got old....and big for the area.

Don't know what size place you got but hopefully its big enough that your efforts will be rewarded.

Love the pics!....I miss Coleman....

We had a lot of hunting pressure around as well, but over the last 3-4 years there has been a bounce back in the deer population on our land. We are actually just south of Santa Anna. Good luck to you.

Love the Coleman area as well. We are south of Santa Anna, but not far from Coleman. We have been a little lucky over the last few years. Even though we don't have a ton of acreage, a lot of land around us has been bought up and high fenced. Deer that are on the move seem to be using our land as a little bit of a travel corridor. We are hoping in the coming years to get some fruit trees, good year round food plots in, and continue establishing cover. Then we may be lucky enough to hold more deer like the ones in the pics. These deer have been on our land for the last couple years. Now it's about increasing the population.

jbseamus83, a little late to this thread, but we also hunt 15 miles South of Santa Anna on a family place. We have a lot of pressure around us too, but have started to see some larger deer the past two years. Maybe recovery after the drought? Stick with it, and good luck this year. Photo from our place last year.

Here are a few I got on camera at some public land I'm scouting in NE Texas. This will be my 2nd Deer season, and these pics have me feeling pretty good right about now. Come on 9/30!
