Spot has been taken and five alternates are waiting in line. Thanks for all the responses!

This is a post I really don't want to write, but I have to do it anyway.

I'm on a four man lease, and we have just been informed that one of our hunting partners has been diagnosed with a lymphoma and will not be participating this year...we're hoping he gets effective treatment. That's out of our hands.

So, we need a fourth hunter.

The lease is just outside Throckmorton. It is a year around lease with plenty of whitetail, hogs, coyotes, dove, and occasional quail and turkey. There are several ponds and some are known to hold fish.

The parcel is small, at 320 acres, but we have never felt it to be a problem. About half of the place has been planted in wheat over the years but that portion has been left fallow for a couple of years now. The rest is mesquite thicket. Prickly pear has spread rapidly the last ten years but was treated about 18 months ago and is dying out for the most part. We have had problems with livestock in the past (certainly connected with the PP infestation!), but that rancher no longer leases the grazing. There are about 15 head of cattle on the place now, and that has been the case for the last two years.

We park our campers where we have electric service. There is no water supply.

One complication arises from the fact that this parcel is on the market, but the owner treats us well and will keep us informed as to what is going on. Our group has hunted this owner's property for about thirty years.  At this point we are leasing six months at a time.

The group has been together about that long and has remained pretty stable. I joined up myself about five years ago. We get along well and enjoy each other's company. We'd like to get a fourth personable man on this lease who will fit in.

The best part is the price. We've been paying about $3800 a year, split four ways.

If YOU think you'd like to be our fourth man, drop me a PM.

Sorry to hear about your hunting buddy.
Hope things work out for the best for him.
Good luck finding a 4th that fits your group.

Thanks gents. I'm tryin to hold on to some hope for the man, but it just doesn't sound good. If ever I wanted to be dreadfully wrong, now's the time.

MrWood, we're about six miles east of town out Highway 79 and a couple or three miles north.
