After trying to move a rather large blind with a loader with pallet forks I found out the ground wasn't as level as I thought and rolled it off my forks. Nice move right! So to hell with it, I salvaged the deer blind windows and camper door then burned it. I don't have the time to build another one like it as I'm trying to finish the inside of the new camp. I decided to break down and by one from Lyssy & Eckel which is about 10 miles from the gate of our place. Which one would you get to comfortably hunt two people that they carry/stock? While I'm at it I might as well get them to deliver and set up as well.

Get a Ranch King. Comfortable as all get out. $$$ but will last. We had them deliver ours.

Looks like I'll be building a new one myself, $3900+$800 setup for a RK.....negative. I have a little cash floating around but that's to rich for a hand like me. Going all treated wood with metal gable roof, 6.5ftx7ft (built 6 others this size, perfect IMO), 6ft high walls and 6on12 pitch roof. I'll remember to secure the blind when I put it on the forks this time, always something lingering, can't ever get ahead but pretty much all self induced.

IMHO I like sitting in a blind I build myself. I'm about to move mine without mechanical help, just my wits.

Made a half/a$$ material list for my build. Exterior will be 3/8 treated plywood........Walls framed with 2x4 non treated studs......Base or floor framed with treated 2x6's with 3/4 plywood floor deck........6on12 gable metal roof......Before installing plywood on walls and roof 3/4 foam board will be installed then treated plywood over the foam board......8ft tower on treated 6x6's with 2x6 cross bracing......3ft wide stairs out of treated 2x12's.......carpet interior. Not planning to paint until all the moisture from pressure treating has dried out, tried painting fresh treated wood once and paint was coming off after 3 months because the moisture from the pressure treatment was bleeding out. Should last 10 years hopefully.

Went with 1/2in treated plywood, treated 2x8's for the base, and 4 on 12 roof. Studs not treated. Base is 10x6.5, blind is 8x6.5. Ran out of material, have to go back and put stairs, X bracing, and another chair.

Youre going to get a lot of sleep hunting in that chair. Sweet dreams.

I've logged many hours of sleep in it before I put in the blind. Wife bought new furniture and area rug so I put the old to use.

Its the closest stand to the camp, thought has passed through my mind to get two 12v batteries wire them in series then to a inverter with a small Flatscreen and Direct TV box and dish but I don't if you can call that hunting.
