Yeah I was amazed when I was told by my friend that they stopped making them. They were a popular rifle and very accurate. My buddy got their Hawken kit and built one years ago. After I shot his Hawken, I was hooked and went out and purchased one. Since I was living in MA at the time, you could buy a used one for a cheap price. The one I sold had the T/C Hunter tang peep sight installed on it and I wish I kept it now because they are hard to find and are going for up to $275.00 for one. They have other peep sights out there but they are bulky or sit too far up on the barrels and mount near the rear sight. The tang peep sight was like using an M16 A2 carry handle rear peep sight and was closer to your eye. I am going to make one when I take some machining courses at my teachers shop.

They are a great BP rifle, the 54 and with 100gr BP and 425gr GP bullet it gets the job done. Glad you found one even thought the hammer is on the wrong side

Hahahahahaha!!!! Yeah I used to have the .54 cal model and it was awesome. Since this is a .50 cal model, I had to buy different stuff for it because it wasn't a smaller caliber lol. It has a steel ram rod so I ordered a custom black delrin ram rod from Track Of The Wolf for it.

Thanks for posting the ram rod source, I have been looking for a good replacement for a long time. If you find or build a tang peep keep me in mind, I tried a 1/2assed solution but went back to barrel mounted v but would love to have a peep. Enjoy the 50.

Thanks. Yeah my buddy told me about TOTW and I noticed in the pics of the guy selling it that the rear sight elevation screw was missing in one of the pics. Well he already had it boxed but he said he could look for it in the floor of his safe and repack the rifle which I didn't want him to go through all that so I ordered a brand new screw off of TOTW for $2.50 and they get the T/C model 7194 tang peep sight in used a couple of times a year so keep a look out for one on their website. The normal price for one is $100.00 these days which is steep but not as bad as the ones I have found for sale on fleabay (eBay) that are selling for over $275.00 lol. I figure that I could always pick up a peep and then make 2 screw adjustable base for it that would work. He does have the Williams peep sights in standard and the night sight one on his website for under $39.95 and they Williams made them for T/C but T/C discontinued them so that might be something to look in to getting for your rifle. Call him on the phone and ask about the Williams peep made for T/C and he will fill you in on them. They also had the original hickory Renegade ram rod for sale on their website but my buddies have used the Delrin one they make for years now and it's a good rod for a great price. I also picked up their hot-shot-RST nipple that they make for the Hawken/Renegade and it's machined well. They also use priority shipping at a flat rate which is great. I will keep you in mind if I ever start making them.
