For anyone interested. Search Amazon for Axis Deer. They have 5 sound files of Axis vocalizations you can purchase for .99 cents each. Amazon has a music app you can download to your phone (free). Purchase the sound files from your phone. Once the sound files have been saved to the amazon music app you can save them / download to your phones music library. Using a Bluetooth speaker you can play the vocalizations loudly from your phone. I plan on trying this next trip to see if any axis respond. Just thought I would pass along. Have been looking for an axis call for a few years now.

Interesting, I will check it out. Unfortunately, most of the recorded sounds I've found are alarm calls - which is not exactly the thing you want to be broadcasting. smile

yeah - the sound files on amazon are not alarm calls. I'm going to give it a shot. Who knows, I may have some luck.

Tried this experiment. I did get several axis to return the call. Actually about 6-7 times. However they were far off and it does not seem they were interested in trying to locate the sound / come closer.

I've called in an axis buck with a cow elk call.

Interesting responses. What Ive seen and heard about calling Axis is that you can get them to answer generally but not come...however, your ARE allowed to go to them! laugh

Especially after you've located them, and if they are anything like other game, they just thinks its another Axis coming, so don't spook. Would love to try it out myself!

Do not use a long call. Andrew and I just bump the HM, really short bursts. That is what we have had the most success with.
