Anyone seeing much in Grayson county?

Seems as though the deer moved more nocturnal a couple weeks ago and now seem to completely have changed their patterns from what I am used to. Lots of acorns in the area, pretty much all over. I think this is part of the problem.

How about any chasing or scrapes?

I have been hunting a creek bottom and they have completely disappeared from the area.

Any suggestions?

Yeah, Thats what I am hoping for. I had a nice buck on camera and several doe and it came to a screeching halt about 10 to 14 days ago.

There has to be some rut activity going on, lots of reports of bucks being hit by cars. Three that I know of last weekend!

Secede!!

We have 310 acres. East of Sherman. The bucks are moving at night. We are seeing no deer under feeders but they are hitting the food plots pretty regularly. We have lots of cameras and the Bucks tend to be running scrape lines. Haven't seen any chasing. Saw three does last weekend at dusk come to a food plot. No bucks following them. Should start to see them chasing this week. Asked on the neigh I got county reports. The acorns are plentiful so hunting feeders is a waste of time right now.

This...Grayson and Collin for that matter really cough up a good buck when it's warm like it's been.

Did your post mean to say that these counties are tough to cough up a good buck when it has been as warm as it's been?

Yeah I meant to say, "rarely" instead of "really".

Yeah,
Went out again this weekend and still nothing. Other guys around are saying same thing. Not sure if it is hunting pressure, acorns, pattern change or all of the above.
I moved to a new area that is a little higher out of the bottoms. I found some cedar flats just outside the oak trees and seems like there is quite a bit of sign there. We will be hunting that next week to see if we can find them.

Saw a massive buck standing on side of hwy just after sun went down when we pulled away. He was nice. I bet he weighed 220 lbs and probably scored 180. Looked like 12 points.
He just stood there and stared at us.

I hunted this morning. Had a doe decoy with estres pee on it near a feeder (which has been unproductive). A small 8 point came to check it out. Really interested in it but didn't tackle it. Are some corn and moved on. I don't think my deer have started rut yet.

DMan - what part of Grayson are you in?

bucks are chasing in southern grayson. seeing the same 8 pt nearly overtime i hunted this past week. starting to see several new bucks on the cams. mostly at night. the largest ones have not been frequenting the food plots or the scrapes we have cameras on (odd). overall the amount of deer has tripled lately what them starting to rut but just not getting any shot opportunities when we are hunting. most pics coming at night. bucks, even the 1-2 yr olds are ignoring the tinks69 i hand from a tree in my food plot.

im confident we will start seeing the big boys in the day light in the next 1-3 weeks we get the most bonus bucks causing through our property around december 1 each year.

I'm fired up for Friday and Saturday. Temp drop and reports that they are heating up on the does. Should be a good combo. I'm after this nasty bone grower.

Thanks dman. He's still living! We are in the bells area. We had 5 Hunters this morning in the field. 4 Deer spotted. One monster at 60 yds. Still no chasing on our place.

Unfortunately I am not getting to go out during this cold spell. I will be out all day Monday and Tuesday though. Taking my son with who is almost 16. Neither of us have ever gotten a kill with bow.
