I made a pot of pinto beans this past weekend.

Boiled ham, pinto beans, stewed tomatoes, cilantro, bell pepper, jalapeno, sweet onion, garlic, butter, celery, cumin, and chili powder.

The ham about to be boiled for 2 hours.

Ham shredded and ready to go.

The vegetables about to be sauteed.

The final product after simmering for about 6 hours.

I actually turned some into refried beans yesterday to go over my brisket nachos that I made.

You guys know you just made "fried beans" not "refried beans"....haha!

We always make fried beans with our left overs at the fire station. Take some chorizo and throw it in a hot skillet till it turns dark, add some bacon fat, throw in your left over pinto beans and smash them up.

Top with cheese and a fried egg and that is some darn good breakfast let me tell ya

Oh and if you think regular ol pinto beans make you fart wait till those chorizo beans get to work.......
