I read it in the outdoor annual Then today in Texas parks and wildlife post " Special Late Antlerless and Spike-Buck Season” replaced with a “Special Late Season” for antlerless deer and “unbranched antlered bucks”

Sounds the same to me ? Like lawyers writing something to make it hard

Last year only spike on both sides could be taken durning the special season. Now one unbranched antler qualifies.

No, I don't find the outdoor annual confusing at all.

They simplified the rule because too many people didn't know the difference between an actual spike and a buck with an unbranched antler.

The rule changed from previous years “Special Late Antlerless and Spike-buck Season”
And was replaced with “Special Late Season for antlerless deer and unbranched antlered bucks.”
Effective Sept 1 2016.
