Have any of you had any experience with the AT IR850 Illuminator?

This is the one they are giving away for free if you do a review about the x-sight on amazon right? If so IDK but I'll have one whenever they ship since I did a review.

That's the one! Would like to know from a THFer who has actually put one into service. What did you like/dislike about it? It's got to be an improvement over the stock illuminator that comes with the scope, which I find is not much help out to much more than 50-75 yards.

It is better, but it is way overpriced if you have to actually purchase one as there are comparable models you can get online for much much less. So if you are getting it free, it would definitely be a benefit.

(I wrote an honest one, BTW) ATN says they will take 6-8 weeks to actually get the illuminator, so while I await its arrival, I thought I'd ask around to see if anyone had actually used one. I can't find much on this model on internet searches. My longest shots are normally less than 150 yards; I have no large, open fields or pastures to hunt. Given that fact, based on your personal experience, what illuminator would you recommend? I'm running the ATN X-Sight II, 3-14.

850 nm IR lights work best with digital scopes.. ATN's IR 850 is made in China just like all the others. It uses the same LED, driver and battery. DNS is right. It is overpriced. You can also get that adjustable mount on various sites for about 25 bucks. It is kind of clunky. A lot of folks buy the Evola off Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Evolva-Future-Technology-Infrared-Flashlight/dp/B00U77KP56

So, the Evolva is a superior performer as far as distance and coverage, or is it priced better and comes in a smaller, more user-friendly package? Please tell me more about the "adjustable mount" you refer to; is it the same one the ATN IR850 comes with?

Got my free ATN 850 IR Illuminator yesterday, mounted it on my HD II and did a side-by-side comparison at 100 yards with the original, stock illuminator that came with the unit, and the 850 is noticeably better. I'll use it in an actual hunting situation and let you all know how it works in the "real" world.

The ATN 850 is a LOT better than the stock one that comes with the rifle. HOWEVER, it is a little over priced. You can get a good T-50 Evolva on Ebay for about 60.00 and it does a better job. If you are looking to purchase it, I woul dnot but the IR light from ATN. I love my X-Sight II 5x20 but not a fan of their accessories.
