Shoot the coyote. But be careful. Hard to keep a bullet on your own property hunting 7 acres.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

Well, this coyote shows up in early early am, so shooting in middle of night not an option....are there any coyote traps out there that wont break the bank? Maybe i could trap him and hall him off somewhere else....im planning to bow hunt, so shouldnt be too crazy close to a neighbor....or maybe shotgun slugs...

Plenty of acorns probably keeping the deer off more than the coyote.

Certainly. A plain old foot hold trap will hold him until you can dispatch him.

Not knowing your neighbor situation and what angles you could muster up to avoid hitting friendlies and friendly property, I'd go with the Shotgun option you mentioned.

You can kill the coyote (never hurts) but Acorns and Pre-Rut activity are more likely reasons you are seeing fewer deer tracks. IF you don't have a competing mast crop on your property, they have simply moved to a better spot.

If you trap that thing and transport it alive you are breaking the law FYI. Kill it or deal with the fact he is running around.

I would be careful if you have neighborhood dogs in the area. You would need at least a #3 leg hold, but they are very wise and shy of metal. You have to get the scent off of the traps. Most people I know that trap them put a drag on them instead of staking. It keeps them from pulling out of the trap.
