As title says, anyone read TOM? San Antonio local published for free, usually in Academy/BPS, etc.

Man its frustrating to read it.

Has Texas been in a severe drought in 2016? Be interesting to hear if rest of Texas has been in severe drought 2016; regionally all of South Texas, from Del Rio to Valley, to Corpus to Victoria to Austin has been exceptional to above average wet in 2016.

Want to hear from others on the drought of 2016 before possibly commenting further about what/how TOM publishes.

U.S. Drought Monitor-Texas shows small areas of the Valley & CC areas at level D1 as of Sept. 20th, 2016. Also shows at end of Sept. 2015, Texas was 65% in some type of dry condition. That sound right?

If it was published out of state then that will explain a lot. Last year I was 16" over my last 10 yr average. This year I am already 7" over my 10 yr average and still have 3 months left in the year.

We are above average on rain here in the Texas Panhandle

Thank You

From the current map only a small percentage of the state shows signs of drought at all. Most of it very moderate in small concentrations. I would guess 1-2% if that.

From what I have heard/read this year and last, some very dry regions of Texas saw once a decade or even once a century rainfall events/totals. A large portion of our state seems to have received semi consistent rainfall lately. I certainly wouldn't classify 2016 as a drought year but Im no weatherman.

After receiving another 6" of rain this past weekend, the Concho Valley area is well above the average. Lakes are still low, but filling up slowly.

Our ranch in Maverick has had over 25 inches of rain. Place is overgrown with grass and looks like spring time. All of our county has had well above average rainfall (even though some protein feed promoters are claiming it was a drought!)
