is the arrow length the same for recurve as compound?

Generally no. I'm not really schooled in this area just starting with the recurve myself but my recurve arrows are longer even though my draw length is an inch shorter. Dynamic spine is calculated differently with recurve.

Going from compound to recurve bow there may or may not be a change in draw length. Depended upon whether you use a release or not will make a difference as most use them with compounds but not recurves. Recurves of equal weight usually take a stiffer arrow.

I try to buy the longest arrows I can get since I have a long draw of 30" and most pre cut arrows come at around 31".
Also a lot of guys don't cut their arrows down if they gap shoot using the arrow tip to aim since the longer the arrow the smaller the gap.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.
