This week on CARNIVORE, my buddy Phil Lyne and I go to the Ruger Plant in Newport, NH to see if we can get his old Model 77 .220 Swift back to cycling. Phil and I have been hunting and outfitting together for over 25 years. He is the only cowboy to ever win the Calf Roping and Bulling Riding at the National Finals. Walt Disney made a documentary about him, GREAT AMERICAN COWBOY that won several awards. He is also a great hunter, great shot and most of all, my good friend. I hope that you will tune in.
Adios,
Gary

Great episode as usual. Great shot by Phil Lyne on that running yote shooting off hand. Gary, what kind of shooting sticks do you use. They look light and easy to carry.

I was using a pair of old Predator Sniper Sticks that are no longer made. Simple and easy to use. At the present time, I am testing the new Swagger Bipods that I saw at the San Antonio TTHA show. At first, I thought that they were too big and clunky but after playing with them, I am beginning to like them. You can look at them on line but not sure where they can be purchased.
Adios,
Gary

By far the toughest man I have ever known, simply does not know pain. A couple of years ago, he had a hip replaced as he was having a difficult time getting around and could not sleep. A few days after the surgery, I called him to see how he was doing and he said GREAT! He said that after the surgery, he felt no pain and never took one pain pill as there was so much relief. I have known several others who have had this surgery and complain that it is extremely painful. Same was true when he cut off the two fingers while roping at Amarillo. I told Phil that I bet it hurt when those two fingers got popped off and he said that it really didn't.
Adios,
Gary
