My buddy & I built a PSA AR-15. Not the first one I've messed w/by any means but the first LPK I'd installed. Problem is we can't load full mags. We loaded 3 30rd & 2 40rd Magpul mags w/30 & 40 rounds, respectively. The mag release wouldn't engage to hold the mags in w/the BCG closed. Removing 1 round from the 30rd mags or removing 2 rounds from the 40rd mags or having the BCG locked open they locked in no problem. What could be the issue here?

It's normal for mags to be tough to seat when they're full. With the 40 round mags I've got, they require a serious hit on the bottom to get them to seat on a closed bolt. As time goes on the springs will take a set and let you seat easier.

Not uncommon.

How does the Mag seat with the bolt locked open?

Common problem. Most people "download" magazines one or two rounds to solve it.

Seats just fine with bolt open.

I never had this issue with any of my 3 AR's (Spike's 5.56, ARP 6.8 or DPMS 7.62).
Thanks for yall's input!

That's how we run them at work. 28 rounds in each mag to get away from this issue
