Okay so in GA with a WMA stamp(APH)you get a lot of options for prepared dove fields. Since my son started hunting this year I decided to try the AHP opposed to WMA lands and Ft. Hood. The first place I went was a field with foliaged over my head my son would not be able to see anything.

How do I find out the places that have been managed by being burned, mowed, or planted? Any help would be appreciated. Live in Temple

I don't know of a way. I suggest going to several areas, and hunting one you like. One idea is to leave early for a pm hunt, you can then scout and hunt on the same day. That's what I plan on doing my next dove trip.

In the back of the book that comes with your APH permit is a list of public lands, and most have a contact number. You can try calling to get a description of the land.

It helps to just get out and talk to others who are hunting, majority of the time you find people who have hunted those lands in the past and have good knowledge on what goes on.

Thank you everyone. I found the Texas youth hunting program. I will try that as well.
