The wife picked Trulucks for her birthday dinner.

Started with 1 crab cake, it was pretty big and should be for $18, freaking delicious.
I started with Seared albacore sashimi, pretty good, the sauce which looks innocent lot me up. Good portion for $12

She had a Sangria and I had a Old Fashioned and it was the best I've ever had, $12 each.

She had a ceased salad that was a meal in itself, $12
I had a cup of the best lobster bisque ever, $9

Main meal she had Hawaiin Ahi Tuna, very good and the mashed taters were great, $39
I had the Striped Bass, didn't care for the actual bass as it didn't have much flavor, but the dynamite sauce was very good and had plenty of lobster crab and shrimp. $36

They brought out a Baked Alaskan for her birthday, never had that before and prob never would have ordered it. It was freaking amazing. It's like a grown up smores.

The wife travels to the east coast and NOLA all the time and eats seafood everywhere she goes. She said over all it was in the top 3 places that she's been to, and the best for seafood in Dallas.

Ok BP, being that you said you didn't really care for Pappas Bros, your higher end restaurant preferences are in question. BUT, I have been meaning to try this place, and on your recommendation, I will give it a go.

Happy Birthday to your wife cheers Sounds like a heck of a great meal. Had friends that used to go to the one in Addison before it closed, there was a night that was all you could eat crab and they would pig out.

I used to eat at Trulucks in Houston. The Exxon rep loved to eat there and he was buying. The food there was always terrific. I had forgotten about Trulucks. I need to go there, even though I'll have to buy. Man, am I hungry right now.

Haven't been in years, but I used to really enjoy it. Need to make a return trip!

Turluck's in Austin is very good. I am a huge fan of both shrimp and crap cocktail. Last time I went, there were to many small pieces of crab claw in my crap claw cocktail. Still other than Eddy V's, Truluck's is at the top of seafood restaurants here in Austin.

That's not terrible. Del Driscos is usually $200+

If you go for the stone crab claws at Trulucks you can rack up $100 per person pretty quick. They sure are good though.
