I know there were some recent changes in the laws regarding automatic knives but I cant find much on double edge knives. I know they use to be illegal but not sure if that was changed as well or not.

So my question is this: Are double edge knives legal in Texas now?

Right under that it says switchblades aren't illegal. So what about something like one of the Microtech OTF knives that is double edged?

That's pretty much what I am finding the more research I do. It almost seems like they legalized a deployment method without legalizing blade designs such as dagger, double edge, stiletto, etc. which are found in a lot of these automatic knives.

No, that would be a dagger unless it was comically small.

The Texas Penal Code does not have a definition of "dagger".

The current legal standard is case law from Armendariz v. State, 396 S.W.2d 132 (Tex. Crim. App. 1965). A knife slightly over seven inches in length when open, equipped with a double guard, blade that locks open and is sharpened on both sides of blade for over an inch meets the definition of a dagger but is not limited to this definition either.
