A friend is working with a group to mass produce a feed timer originally developed by a gentleman(Since past away) in North Texas. The timer works off pre programed sunset and sun rise times. Times are based on every 6 calendar days for years. Once set, you never have to adjust the timer or change the times. According to design, it is a set and forget feeder.
I've seen a few bow hunter reviews on a similar product and have yet to find a complaint. One rancher who used the product in the field did so for several years without a single issue, and great success. Sorry, didn't record the reference.
I'm looking for input or dare I ask...opinions. What do you think? Would you purchase this type product? I'll try to get their specs and post them later.

I'd probably give it a try. I've considered a photocell timer such as the sunslinger, but I'm not enthusiastic about them not throwing on some cloudy days and such. This product sounds like it could be the solution to that problem. Is it just a timer or the whole unit(motor, timer, etc)?

I would recommend fitting them with a eliminator or similar spinner plate

I think it's a great idea. I'm working on the same concept for my timed free choice feeders.
