Talked to land owner we hunt on in North East Red River CO. Said he got a email / msg saying doe season would be extended to 16 days this year in North East Texas Counties. From just the 4 day Thanksgiving wknd hunt. Said he didn't have the info with him but would research it more for us. Any one heard anything on this????

Yes, the post was on here earlier but can't find it anymore. We have hunted Lamar county for several years with only a 4 day doe season. Good news for NE Texas hunters.

Thanks for the responses guys. Only thing is, what I saw after a Google search(TPWD), this is just a proposal??????.... will keep an eye on it to see what happens and if its actually passes, hopefully they will list the days asap so we can plan ahead

Increases many east teas counties to 16 day doe season. Adds some counties that had no doe days to 4.

Adds late muzzleleoader seasons, whatever that is.

Allows even more decimation of a barely adequate herd....

Gotta sell those licenses so make them bag limits more liberal $$$

In my opinion this is just about giving people more of a chance than a 4 day period to take a doe. I doubt the impact will even be noticeable.

Those of us that hunt Red River county appreciate the extended season. All it takes is a storm Thanksgiving weekend to mess things up. I am just wondering that since there are no details on the extended doe days, will the extra days be muzzle loader since they added the muzzle loader season?

It shouldn't. Camp already had a muzzleloader season and we got the extended doe days too.

Agreed about the storm screwing it up, 3 days of downpour last season over that weekend pretty much had it shut down.

Did the limit increase too?

Not that I have heard, but it definitely allows 400 percent more days to fill that limit.

I was only able to take one doe last year in bow season. Thanksgiving weekend they disappeared for rifle season. Saw plenty of doe during bow season, they just not cooperate and come in close enough.
