Go out the 17 WSM on the weekend.

The first two shots (outside circled area) were scope adjustments and than the 5 shot group is in the circled area.

First 4 were touching and the last was a bit of flyer but still not too bad. Shots were at 100 yards and group size was just under an inch. If I hadn't taken that last shot the group would have been a lot closer to 1/2 inch. Pretty decent for a rimfire considering the shots were taken off shooting sticks and not a bench. Rifle was a Savage B-mag target with a floated barrel, bedded action and Boyd's laminated thumbhole stock. Accutrigger and barrel was factory Savage 21 inch heavy stainless. Scope was a Scorpion Red Hot 17, 4-12x by 40. Ammo was Hornady 20 grain v-max.

Based on those results I would have no problem taking head shots out to 100 yards (no/light wind) on a coyote if I was shooting off sticks.

Gun is basically this (this is a stock image - don't have a photo of mine loaded to the computer):

Never violate a woman, nor harm a child. Do not lie, cheat or steal. These things are for lesser men. Protect the weak against the evil strong. And never allow thoughts of gain to lead you into the pursuit of evil.
