Will be hunting in Blanket TX this weekend. My son and I are hunting a place that has had no pressure and I was just wondering at what stage are the birds in this area of the state and any strategies you would be willing to give up that might help us be successful. Thanks in advance for any information.

Good luck this weekend.

Turkeys should be at or near the middle to end stages of breeding...with toms looking for hens to breed. Hen decoy(s) would be nice, but not necessary. Hunt near the roost early and see if you can call one in right off the bat. If this doesn't work, then get into an area where turkeys move, and call. If you get a response, be ready. No response, move another hundred yards and try again.

Anyone been out and about in/around Comanche this week to see what the birds are doing? Doesn't matter anyway as baby girl wants to go this weekend so daddy will be taking her. I heard we've had 6-7" of rain around Blanket this week.

Any reports about current conditions or how you've been doing in Brown/Comanche will be appreciated!
