Club member in the market for one of these.
Both are great rifles, but I'm leaning towards the Sako.

I'll let y'all decide.

Well since the Blaser costs more than double the Sako I'd take 2 Sakos myself. I own 2 already and they are fantastic. Can't say I've ever held a Blaser.

I haven't shot or owned either but I'd go Sako.

I think Blasers are ugly. I love Sakos.

I had a blaser R93 and had several barrels. I think they are beautiful guns, but 2 of the 3 calibers didnt shoot better than 1.5" at 100yds the 243 was barely under an inch. So with that being said imo not worth the money. I had a 243 win, 280rem, and 300 wm. That being said they arent worth the money imo, and i know several blaser owners that have had same issue with accuracy. Never had a sako that didnt drive tacks. I love the sako finnlite

We went and got him the Blaser R8 Jaeger in 300 Win Mag topped with a Swarovski Z5 5-25x52mm BRH.
There were Sakos there, but the finish and beauty of the Blasers was unparalleled. Germany wins this round, Finland.
I can't wait to shoot this thing.

Blaser recoil is about 30% greater than equal calibers in convention bolt action rifles. So if he is looking at a heavy recoiling caliber like 7mm mag or one of the 300s or greater he probably should go with the SAKO.

Hope you got a brake, that R8 in 300 win will rock you good.

Had two sako model 85 grey wolf in 30-06 at one time for a a few weeks. The first one and the replacemet sako sent me ejected the brass into the bottom of the scope tube, which caused the brass to fall back in the action. They said for me to run my 40 mm hunting scope in high rings, we tried amd still had the problem. My gun shop refunded my money and sent those rifles back. I read its a problem with the long action and the way the ejector is placed. Now, if i ever spent that kind of coin again on a rifle it i would never buy a factory rifle. I would have someone slap me together something.
