I'm looking at a quail lease between Throckmorton and Seymour Tx. I've never hunted that area and wanted some input on the quail situation out there. Thanks!

Back in the day that country was as good as there was. Good luck!

It's real good. My father in law deer hunts south of throckmorton and says he has always seen quail. But the numbers this year were crazy.

Hunted there years back. Lots and lots of quail.
Lots of cactus and rattle snakes where we hunted.

We had an amazing quail year this year just west of Throckmorton. As far as the rattlesnakes go, I've seen 1 in the last 5 years.

Glad yall are seeing some quail out that way. I'm not worried about the rattlesnakes. I grew up in the desert and had plenty of dogs bitten but never had one die from it.
