How is the accuracy? Is this something that one might want to put a scope on?
Kind regards, charlesb

The pistol or the bullpup? Ive shot the pistol, pretty cool little gun. Accurate too. Wanted to buy it and the AR upper when I saw an upper cheap, but didnt and still kick myself. Ammo is actually pretty easy to find.

Also, if you have a .22 mag suppressor, most of them are rated for the 5.7 also. Check first of course.

I have the fn 5.7 pistol. I love the thing. I got it for my wife, she is hyper recoil sensitive. She likes it and is very accurate with it. Recoil could only be compared to 22mag and its a fairly light comfortable pistol to carry compared to a steel commander 1911. Its probably the most accurate pistol for me. I cant hit a grapefruit at 25 yards shot after shot with any other centerfire pistol except the 5.7, i cant even do that with a wilson cqb 45. My only complaint is ammo aint cheap for plinking. Supposedly though there is credible reload data now for it, that was a drawback when i initially got mine.

I've often wondered if the 5.7x28 might be similar to the .22 Hornet in a rifle. One thing I do not like about the Hornet is the paper-thin brass that does not last as long as a more modern case would, like the 5.7x28 for example.
I've yet to see a comparison between the two cartridges in rifles similar enough to get an idea of the relative power levels, velocity and accuracy.
There was supposed to be a Savage model 25 in 5.7 but Savage had problems getting it to work with their barrels, if I remember correctly. FN makes an "AR" type gun for it but I would much prefer a bolt gun or perhaps a single-shot. Something very accurate that doesn't toss the brass, and can function OK with neck-sized brass.
The best rifles for it now, if I understand correctly are the AR uppers, and custom barrels for the T/C Contender rifle. I would be happier with a bolt gun like the small CZ, and happiest of all with an 1885 low wall.
Seems to me that they are missing the boat by not pursuing the 'walking varminter' angle. Even if it is not quite as powerful as the Hornet, it would still be very attractive and effective for that purpose. Seems like it would, anyway.

The only issue with five seven is the 50 cent trigger pulls. Some people reload for it, but it is very hard

50 cent trigger pulls? Better than my 45 or 10mm. I like odd stuff and this would be it for sure. Not many factory ammo options but I'm already accustomed to that.

I thought it was comparable ballistically. The drawback imo for 22 tcm is bullet choice. I think its just fmj or psp, 22 hornet bullets. The 5.7 has great bullet choices.

The 5.7X28 have a coating on the cases for improved cycling in the gun it was designed for. That gun has a blowback action and the shoulder gets pushed forward quite a bit on each firing. That pushing the shoulder forward then pushing it back work hardens the brass. Working the brass that much doesn't help brass life and the coating is soon gone off sized brass in places.
Ballistics are very similar to the 22 Hornet and I am sure can be as accurate or more so than the Hornet. If you want something other than the 57 pistol, PS90 or AR in the 5.7 you are looking at a custom rig, the 5.7 case head is the same as a 25ACP so good luck in finding an easy conversion.

I had one a few years ago. Fun to shoot and pretty much point and click at 100 yards. The little 40gr bullets wouldn't swing a flapper on a dueling tree or drop poppers so I sold it.

My buddy and my dad both have one and they are fun to shoot. I took Dads to the range 2 weeks ago and shot 50 rounds through it. amazingly accurate. For me anyway.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.
