Been waiting on the Omega to get here, I got to go pick it up yesterday. Mounted it up last night with the Armageddon cover and went shooting at lunch. I love it! Quieter than the Harvester for sure.

Nice, what are the specs on you rifle?

Remington 40X chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. Action trued and Bartlein 1-8 twist installed by Jon Beanland. Old school original McMillian 40X stock. Kampfeld bolt knob, 40X trigger, SiCo Omega. EGW rail, Vortex bubble, SWFA 3-15x42 Mil-Quad scope. I did all the Cerakote work myself.

Whats the contour and length of your barrel? I just noticed the paw print on the side. Nice touch.

Quieter than the Harvester? Nice! Do you have both?

The barrel is cut at 22". Pretty sure Bartlein calls that Remington Light Varmint contour. It measures about .975 right next to the muzzle. The coyote track is kind of a thing I do on my stuff.

Yes I do. In fact I was shooting them side by side today at lunch. The Omega on my 22" barreled Creedmoor, and the Harvester on my 21" barreled 243. The Omega is noticeably quieter to me. And it has a deeper tone as well. Omega is shorter and fatter (and probably has a better baffle design), whereas the Harvester is longer and a touch skinnier. Don't get me wrong, I like my Harvester. But I love that new Omega.

I have a Specter II in jail that I filed on in November, and a second Omega in jail that I filed on the first of January. I am thinking I need to file on one more before 41P goes into effect, but not sure exactly what I want it to be. A SAS Barricade or TBAC Ultra 7 would be very tempting. A friend of mine got to go pick up his Sandman L and Barricade yesterday and shoot them. He really likes them both, but says the Barricade is quieter than the Sandman.

Cool thanks. My Krieger barrel will be M24 contour cut at 24" so I suspect it'll be about the same as yours just slightly longer. Looking at Bartlein's site, the Light Varmint isn't all that light!! I almost went with Heavy Varmint but the weight scared me off.

Very nice gun. I'm waiting patiently (not really) on my .22 stamp and my SBR approval.

Could you take a side by side picture of the Omega and Harvester for me? If you remove the external baffle at the end does that effect the sound or recoil?

Btw, Congrats and thanks for the info!

Both of mine have can covers on them right now so I don't know how much a picture would help. But follow this link and it shows a drawing of them you can compare to get a general idea.

https://silencerco.com/silencers/

Omega and Harvester have a very similar external appearance though. Harvester is 1.37" diameter x 8.8" length, and weights 11.3 oz. The Omega is 1.56" in diameter x 7.1" length, and 14 oz. As far as I know they do not make a flat end cap for the Harvester, so you are stuck with the anchor brake. The Omega you can get a flat end cap for it if you want to shorten it down a bit more, but I don't have one to do the comparison with. At some point I am sure I will get one try. Right now I am using the anchor brake on both of mine. I am not sure if it is the anchor brake reducing recoil or just because they are suppressed, but for sure everything I am shooting has less recoil with the can on. The Omega is quieter to me. And it is full auto rated, so it is a tougher can in general. Larger diameter doesn't really matter to me, I like the shorter length. Omega is more versatile, with much more mounting options, lots easier to swap around, and it has a more modern baffle design. Which doesn't mean there isn't a place for the Harvester, there is. But it is kind of like golf, picking a club for what you want to do.
