When I was walking out to retrieve my GWT with my arms lifted over my head waiting for the water to top my waders....I was reminded of what it was like before her

Hard to get used to and it wasn't even my dog

Yeah you burn more calories w/o a dog. It's even more of a pain when you have to get in your boat to fetch a duck.

Funny I had a dream last night I was training a new pup, I was getting frustrated because pup would not heel after a fetch like Molly. I had to give myself a correct that I need to start all over with training a new pup.

1st year I've hunted without a dog in 20+ years. On one hand, it's nice not having to chase criples, keep up with all the birds killed and by whom, packing food, etc, etc. However, this will be the last year I hunt without a dog. Just put a deposit down on a litter.
