I have been hunting in the hill country for 35+ years. Most recently I have been managing a 5 gun lease south of Llano. We lost that lease this year due to the landowner selling the property. I was on this lease 4 years. Prior to that I managed a 10 gun lease in Kimbell County that we were on for 18 years before we lost it due to – you guessed it – landowner selling the land. I am interested in joining an existing lease that needs a couple of good, management minded hunters.
I am nearing retirement and have a son that is upper 20's that hunts with me. We must go as a package deal - minimum of 2 spots.
I am not interested in looking for another lease to manage - I just want to pay my fee, take care of what I am responsible for, do the proper deer management things, and let someone else have all the headaches.
I have hunted in the hill country all my life and would prefer to stay there, but would be open to other areas, if they have decent deer numbers, good people, and have the possibility of a long term arrangement. We are management minded hunters, and do not shoot just to see something fall. We would prefer to have a lease that has at least water and electric - lodging is not important as we both have travel trailers. We also would desire to have immediate family privileges hunting off our tags. We are not heavy drinkers, but do enjoy an occasional beer after the evening hunt. Both are non-smokers.
We will make a good addition to anyone’s lease. I know the ropes and understand the difficulty of finding and keeping good lease members, and then managing it all so that everyone, including the landowner is happy.
It will be possible for me to come up with additional members from my current lease if you need them. I also have a letter of recommendation from my most recent landowner if needed.
If you have the possibility of two openings on your lease for the 2016 season, and longer, that I may be interested in, e-mail me at rick.parker@smurfitkappa.com or PM me.

Rick, I can relate to your experiences. That is what drove me to buy my own land 10 years ago. I am not sure this would suit your needs, but we do offer a unique hunting experience at the K9 Ranch. We have 337 acres located near London, TX (Between Junction and Mason). We offer two hunters a long weekend package to take a trophy buck and doe, along with turkey and hogs/varmints. This hunt is offered to only one two party group per year and that is the only deer hunt we sell. We have had tremendous success with this hunt, as you can imagine. We provide bunk house lodging with water/electric/heat/ac or RV hook-up, Atascosa corporate blinds, year long protein feeding along with 7 continuous operation corn/milo spin feeders. You just show up and hunt. If this is something that would interest you, contact me through a PM or check out our website at www.hunt-texas-hillcountry.com. Our hunt is already sold for 2016, but if you would like to come check us out during a Spring Turkey hunt with your son, we would be happy to entertain you.

Thanks for the offer, but we prefer at least a season lease, so that we can watch the deer, see what the land is holding and then plan which deer we want to harvest and spend our time hunting that deer. That also gives us the opportunity to manage the herd by removing the animals that we don't want breeding does, and leaving the ones that we do want to breed.

Deer leases are a lot like everything else, you get what you are paying for, so with that being said, I know what deer leases cost. Depending on the quality of the lease, quality of the deer, and the available amenities, I would be willing to pay what it takes to get what we are looking for. If you have something I might be interested in, run it by me and I'll certainly listen.

We have 3 spots available on 1800 acres. Year round access and this is a family friendly lease. There is a campsite with electric. I also have a couple of travel trailers in camp if you need a place to stay. Nothing fancy but dry and warm. Price is 2000 per gun. You can bring guest and family but they hunt off your tags. There will be 9 hunters on the place. Thank you for lookingis one..sounds good............
