I have a 300 weatherby mag that I haven't really done much with and decided it's not really what I want but don't know exactly what to do with ( rebuild,sell) any ideas id appreciate.

It's been my experience with my own guns that if i don't have much interest or love in them, they never get used. So I ultimately sell them unless it's a family heirloom, or a special gun. Id sell it. With that in mind...feel free to PM me with details on it if you sell.

Makes a huge difference if the 300Wby you have is a Mk V or a VanGuard, in what other calibers you can swap the barrels to get into. MK V's are a longer reciever and ex: acccomodate 308 dia bullets the VanGuard will not in the longer or heavier bullets in 300 Wby.
MK V's, like the WW M70 Safari grades & other similar receivers capable of handling longer than 30'06 ammo are sometimes called "Magnum Length"...and will handle the 375 H&H length ammo etc.

Seems like the huge difference is a MK V is worth twice what a Vanguard is... which im betting has very little to do with being a longer action.
Seems like a pretty straight forward problem. Do you want a thumper of a deer rifle or elk gun etc.? or do you want to do a precision build rifle? If neither and it has no sentimental value then sell it for what its worth.

Vanguards wi shoot 375 length cartridges. Heck Weatherby makes a vanguard 375hh.
