I was happy with mine, it is a quality firearm. - But somebody kept waving money at me and managed to talk me out of it.
Originally it was made by Beretta. Beretta sold the tooling for the Cougar to Stoeger when they came out with some polymer wonder that is not half as good.
I'll probably buy another Cougar in 40 cal, everything about it seemed just right. - The price is good too, a bit over half of what Beretta used to ask for the same gun.
Kind regards, charlesb

I have no experience with the Stoeger version but have the original Beretta Cougar 8040 and it is very nice. I am selling the one below if you are interested. Bought it new at Cabelas and less than 50 rounds fired. Comes with box and 3 mags plus I am selling 4 new in the package mags as well. PM me if interested.
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

I bought the Stoeger Cougar 9MM in 2006. Daughter purchased one in 2011. Can't say enough good things about them. Academy normally has the best price locally.
Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

Good guns I'm just not a fan of rotary lockup on a pistol. Give me a CZ 75.

I had one in 40 and it was a great gun. I sold it because I never liked the snappiness of the 40. Had it been a 9mm, I would still have it.
Thanks, Rich
