I bought a cheap photocell feeder to put up quickly on a place. I bought it because it was very cheap and easy to set up. Next year I will add a digital timer to if but for now I'm going super cheap.
My problem is that it doesn't throw in the morning until about 8:00 and when the sun is up a lot. The feeder is under a lot of tree cover so I'm guessing that's why it goes off late.
How can I make it trigger earlier?
I was thinking adding foil to it to get more light going into the photocell. Will that work?
Again. I'm wanting an idea that's near free.
I also thought of putting an angle iron with foil on it glued to the feeder near the photocell. Or maybe paint the angle iron white?

Killed many deer using a feeder with photocell but do like digital best. With the weather we have had in our area lately there are just too many clouds in the morning. Don't think there us much you can do about the problem other than moving away from the tree cover.

When you get to your blind really early in the morning, take one of those nice flashlights you got for X-mas and shine it at that "eye." That should make it go off!

I got 4 flashlights this year!!! And I have one from last year that does a very tight super bright straight beam. I'll wait until it's some light and then shine it that way they don't see it. I hunted there this morning and it went off at 8:05am!!! That's annoying. I read the box and it says it goes off at about an hour after sunrise and an hour befor sunset. That's pretty close.
