Which game cam that offers the live feed to my computer is best? Are these even worth investing in?

I think you're confusing "live feed" with cellular texting of pics.

You could do the live feed thing, would be spendy on many counts. The cellular cams like Covert Code Black are only as good as the cell coverage at your lease with either AT&T or T-Mobile, no others. Mine worked well for me.

We get 4g where we are at with ATT. Have you been happy with the cams?

Cams are only on 3G right now, which is plenty for simply texting a picture. Covert Code Black is a good camera and they stand behind it, they replaced mine for free when it had a problem during warranty.
