Those aren't ticks but something is up. You got mesquites?

We are covered up with Mesquites. Waiting word from a biologist from the area. We have a doe that has the same markings. Never seen this before.

I've got several deer in mills county like this. Thought they were warts.

The local processor told us to not bring this deer in if we kill it. Was hoping someone on here knew what this was.

looks like warts to me. Google Deer Warts and there are some articles and images that are pretty crazy.

Those can't be mesquites unless something pushed him into them.

Does look like Warts. Wonder what causes this? Pretty crazy pictures when you google Deer Warts. Wouldn't shoot that deer anyway but wonder if it affects the meat? Makes me wonder. Just don't want it to get worse.

Fibromas are what the deer has. They will disappear when it gets much colder this fall and into the winter. The deer is edible.

I did, it's gross. The article I read said the virus is typically contracted through an open wound or biting insect. It appears to only be fatal if the warts blind the deer or make it impossible for them to eat.

There is nothing wrong with the deer. He will loose those when it gets colder. I have seen a buck 3 yrs in a row that was much worse than that. He lost all the Fibromas by Christmas each year. The year after those 3 yrs, he never had them.
