It all depends on the term in your face If you are by yourself or with another guy hiding in a ditch, you can use 4,5,6 lead easy for 20-30 yard shots.
I use bb since we hunt them with 8 guys out of a blind with a huge flap that has to come down By the time the flaps comes down and you have identified your bird, the in your face becomes quickly a 40-50 yard shot.
Yes, 2, 4, 5,6 if you shoot them in the head
bb if you shoot them in their body
Im not that precise, so i use heavymetal bb
Mod is good

I knocked a couple down last year with 3.5 BB's Hevi-shot. They are tough suckers just bought me a full extended choke for high passing shots.

I shot 3" #1's through a modified choke all last season and had good luck on decoying birds and pass shooting. Fiocchi's.

If they are decoying, we shot #6 shot out of our 410s. If they are close, it's much like turkeys- shoot for the head/neck.

Actually pretty hard to find at times. Take a box of BBs and #3 3.5 inch. Hammered several greaters last year stone dead crossing shots. Just gotta get them in the head outside of 35+

I assume that one you are holding up us a little unique? What do you call that coloration? Or am I just ignorant to what cranes look like.
