I've got an older Sweeney timer that I'm going to put into a Monarch box and am having a complete brain fart on wiring it up and hoping you can help.
The timer's got red, black and green wires coming out with a connector. I also have a harness that hooks into it that hast two additional connectors. I assumed one was to go to the motor and battery and maybe the other is for a solar panel??
Regardless, can anyone tell me the proper routing of the wires to the battery/motor?

Thanks for the help. I can post a pic later if that'll help.

I tried looking for a manual. No luck. Usually red and black go to battery. The green will be ground. Sweeney has a 'Grounded Feeder'.

You can get the real timer at Monarch for forty bucks. Their customer service is top notch, why I use them.

I couldn't find a manual either. I may just have to wait until I head back to my place and look at my other Sweeney for confirmation.
Here's the pics if it helps.

Cast, do you have a link to the Monarch Quantum manual? Or a picture of the back of the timer? The issue with mine is that someone on my old lease tried to replace wires in the back of the timer to include a remote control. Whatever they added always overheats and the wire melts. I can try and put it back together if I had a pic/diagram.

I just have this Sweeney timer lying around and thought I might just use it instead.

The Quantum timer has two wires that hook to the big battery. It has a small 'N' size battery that runs the timer (lasts two years) so it is a snap to hook up. They will fix it while you chat with the ladies there at Monarch for forty bucks.

My first Monarch was old and faded with a bad display on the timer. I was very impressed with the ladies once I got that raggedy old timer in their hands. It came out still faded but in perfect working condition with a new Quantum timer. I just bought a new Monarch box last week, complete with solar panel and rectangular spinner plate. It's much easier to change out the whole thing in the field and bring in old unit for repair. My old unit had dead battery so I suspect the TSC solar panel I rigged on it is now historical, so it goes to the ladies for repair.

Good luck on yours. I would strip all the extra stuff and start fresh.

Btw, remember the Christmas sale, 1/3 off! I plan to buy a feeder a year during the sale until I can't afford corn.

Red battery positive
Black battery negative
Green motor (could positive or negative, have to figure it out)

This is just my guess, but with only 3 wires it seems the most likely wiring.
